While dogs are formidable creatures with an innate sense of survival, many succumb to weather and natural disasters. Domesticated pups have the luxury of cozy shelter and a family dedicated to their safety. However, strays have no choice but to brace for Mother Nature's onslaught and hope for the best.
Occasionally, people encounter strays struggling and choose to take action. In this story, a man discovers a small stray dog separated from its mother after a heavy storm.
The rains stopped, but streams of rushing water threatened to whisk the pup away, while hypothermia and a lack of shelter put the animal at a higher risk of succumbing to the elements.
Luckily, the man steps up to be the puppy's savior, allowing it to experience the warmth and protection of a loving family.
Cold, Shivering and Scared
Heavy rains ravaged a community, flooding nearby roads. While riding his motorcycle through the rushing water of rain-drenched asphalt, a man spotted a small puppy shivering on the side of the road.
Upon closer inspection, he found the dog soaked and struggling to survive. Despite its shivering, the puppy looked uninjured.
He wraps it in his warm shirt and heads for a nearby convenience store. The employee helps him purchase ham sausage and gives the man a paper bag to plop the puppy into. He takes the pooch home, dries its coat and provides warmth until the shivering stops.
All the Comforts of Home
The once-scared puppy takes to the man's home surprisingly well, exploring with all the curiosity a young dog should have. But the man notices the creature's hunger.
As he begins to unwrap the sausage he purchased, the puppy can't contain its excitement! It scarfs down the food, showing it hasn't eaten in some time.
After taking time to make the dog comfortable, the man must leave the puppy at home alone. Upon his return, the puppy looks timid after spending hours alone, but it welcomes the man's arrival.
The generous man decides to bathe the puppy. The time it spent alone in the wild resulted in tangled and smelly fur. The pooch handles the bath like a champ despite some fear of the dryer! The man creates a bed for the puppy, giving it a warm blanket for protection and warmth–a first for the young dog!
A New Family
The new unlikely pairing has only spent a couple of days together, but their bond encouraged the man to take the next steps toward making the dog feel like family. He visits a pet shop with the pup, hoping to buy it food.
While young, the puppy should be old enough to eat kibble. It's hesitant at first, fearful of the brand-new environment. But after trying several options, he finally eats!
The man wonders if the puppy is a true stray or a dog separated from his true family. He returns to the area where he discovered the once-lonely pup, visiting a nearby community to ask around. While the pup experienced much adoration from residents, no one had seen it before.
After trying in vain to find a possible former owner, the man decides to call the puppy his own.
He gives the dog the name "Little Sui," which means "to follow." After a trip to the vet for vaccinations, Little Sui could become officially licensed and adopted.
It took some time for Little Sui to adjust to his new life. But over several weeks, he started to enjoy life! The pup became rambunctious, getting into trouble and making messes. But more importantly, he finds joy and comfort.
The man who saved Little Sui from death is now an owner he can trust unconditionally, and he never shys away from showing it. As the man works, the puppy follows, eager to help however he can.
The puppy spreads joy to others, bringing light and life to kids, the elderly and everyone in its extended family. The once-abandoned and lonely pup is now part of a family and free to relax in the comfort and protection of love.
